Returning to SHIII after a long hiatus...
 

Unfortunately, the DVD became damaged during a move and I'm now downloading the DL version.

What patch are we up to now (it was 1.4, I think, when I left), and will the download version support Real Uboat?

Yes. There is no difference between the Download and the DVD version.

A little OT here:

FYI, I bought a CD/DVD disk repair kit, since my (standalone) DVD player is very pick if the DVD has even a tiny scratch. It works for minor scraches filling them with a transparent substance. :up:

after a little recent excursion into a WW2 game, it gave me the urge to get hands on in sinking some convoys

I also took a leave. Its great to be back and see the forums alive and well. Also to all the modders great work! :up:

Apparently the DL version needs a different 1.4 patch, which should be available at the DL site. Incidently, it also has StarForce(d).

Welcome back. I took a little break myself, but am back on the high seas again.

I took a break, too. Other then some occasional fidgeting and testing of stuff, I really haven't actually sat down to play it. Recently, I created my fourth Data folder for use with the game. :lol: This time I went back to the roots. It is a patched stock version of the game. I fixed some other major bugs and installed Harbor Traffic 1.47. Surprisingly, it is pretty fun just to play the stock game again. It loads quicker, too. :88) :lol:

This is a game that will always keep pulling you back. I can remember the old Silent Service II on my Atari ST back in the day was the same way. No matter what games I got into or how long I was gone, I always went back to SSII. I've been away from SH3 for probably 6 months now and I'm getting the urge to come back again too. Maybe this weekend...
