Multiple U-Boats

Are you able to have more than one and just switch between them in between missions? I purchased the VIIB, but I dont know of a way to switch back to my old boat if I felt like it.

You didn't purchase it; it's not your property :P Your request to acquire the VIIB is granted for your perfomance (renown). So you can't command 2 subs at a time anyway. You may go back to your old type (not exactly the old boat).
