Out on steam
|
Hey.... right next to good ol Space Empires IV... that's a name I haven't seen in a while.... best 2D turn based stategy ever.

Space Empires IV is an underground classic every bit as good as Civilization.
Sometimes you can be the straight out Borg rolled into the Empire and other times a fungus on the bottom of some other species shoe. :88) |
I was under the impression that you could download Dangerous Waters over steam for free if you all ready had the retail vision. I’ve been looking but I can’t seem to find any information on how to do this.

So if you have the retail version or the original BF version and you get the 1.03 patch why would you want to download it on steam?

That’s a good question. You see, I use steam for a lot of games. Most of the games I play at this time are available over steam. If I’m entitled and it’s possible I would like to have DW in my steam account. As you probably know, each steam account is unique to there owner, so I could log on to any pc in to world and once steam is installed to it download any of the games in my steam account. In the next few mounts I plan to get a new pc. First thing I’ll do after setting it all up is put steam on and leave it downloading over night. Next morning all my games would be there patched up to date and I’d be ready to go. In fact the only other game I regularly play is Red Orchestra which will its self soon be available over steam. I’ll still have the cd’s if I need them, but for my part I’d find it convenient to be able to load it in to my steam account. It gets patched, and if any expansion packs become available over steam (hopefully :) ) then I will be able to pre-load them and play them the very minute they become available.

The problem remains though that even if you can log into your steam account from any pc in the world, the moment you want to play dw have need to have the cd, so it kind of breaks the magic of the steam account portability. Of course if you buy the dw steam version you don't have any cd problems and you regain the worldwide portability of the steam account. |
