Starforce and "Direct to Drive"
I have a new PC and I want to avoid starforce problems ... but I also love SH3. Does anyone know if starforce is installed when the game is purchased as a download (for example, from Direct to Drive, "D2D")? Comments are much appreciated.

The Direct2Drive version also comes with SF.

So will I never play SH3 again?

That´s something that cannot be discussed on Subsim.com.

Personally I didn't have any problems with Starforce apart from the 5 sec lag before loading. I also downloader and installed SFs new version of drivers, just in case.
CD / DVD burning is same as usual. (Both burner and readers are NEC, with stock firmwares, if this helps anybody) I have read many times that SF is a problem for some users. In any case this is not the right forum for SF workarounds. Although I am quite sensitive in things that are installed to my HD against my will (eg I don't use adware. I use mostly freeware apps even if they have inferior functionality), my love for SH3 weighs more than SF fears. SH3 rules  |
I never had problems with my old system either. I just don't know what to believe anymore.
