What happened to the Kirov’s SS-N-14 twin launcher?
I was reading Norman Polmar’s “Guide to the Soviet Navy” and I noticed the Kirov CGN has a twin SS-N-14 “Silex” missile launcher forward of its SA-N-6 VLS launchers. I searched the net (since I don’t have a scanner) and found this image…
http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/7...71194wf.th.jpg What happened to this launcher? I have a feeling the Kirov in DW isn’t as deadly as it could be. Also interestingly this launcher seems to be the only SS-N-14 launcher that could be reloaded while underay. :hmm: |
I bet they sold it to Iran. :yep:

I know Kapitain will be in here in a moment, so I'll get this in first...
Maybe it fell off? |

lol guys
all four kirovs are diffrent no two are the same some have bulbous bows some dont in fact admiral ushakov i think has the bulbos bow, they have chopped and changed the equipent on them so many times its hard to keep track but i suspect that the SS-N-14 has been replaced with something else. NOTE: speling puntuation and gramer is way over my head |

 They secured them to the platforms with all the duct tape that they could manage, but, alas, the sea took them. |
