Type XXI Skins?
 

I don't think Fubar ever released a type XXI skin to go along with his superb II, IX, and VII skins. Are there any good ones out there? If not, might someone be up to the challenge of this?

Search for the ones made by Type941. It was the all black skins.

Check the sticky mod thread.

Theres only two that i know of.

- type 941's modern type 21 skin
- U-2540

Personnaly i didn't like either of them very much. The modern skin just looks too modern for my taste (looks like a russian attack sub, probably the intent), and the other one just doesnt quite get close to Fubar's. Still has a rough texture feel to it where as fubars acutaly looks like steel.

Other than those two, there are no type21 skins that im aware of.

Right, I knew about Type941's skins. Something along the lines of U-2540's paint scheme or this:

I'm in the process of working on this skin but I'm trying to find the
snorkel tga file does anyone know what dat file its inside.

As for the snorkel, if i were to guess, i would guess its inside the coning tower files., and unfortunatly its the one conning tower that isnt declaried with named files like the rest of the conning towers. :(

So that is defniatly a good question.

What im wondering is where are the XXI's conning towers data iis being stored?

If fubar releases this skin i might give up on doing a campagin in a VII/42 and go for the XXI again and see if i can get past KapitanLt in rank and score massive tonnage.

At any rate ive discovered what i did wrong and got the XXI to work from 42-45 (i wont play any game before 12Dec41 .. boooorrriinnnnnggg).

Only thing i cant figure out now is the 0 patrol grid "bug". Theres something about the 11th flotilla and 1943 that is "magical" in this reguard. Gonna need to vivisect that entry in the floatilla.cfg to see whats different about it.


BTW, you try that XXI recharge fix yet? Hows it working for ya?

I need to try it more in detail...


I went into the "XXI" single mission, but CB's crazy destroyers wouldn't get off my tail... And I was too tired to lose them, so I went to bed.

Does anybody know if that large Type XXI model's camo is based off a real XXI? Would be interesting.
