how do you kill a burke?

simple fire a few missiles at it ...............er no ............. arliegh burke is thee most capible AAW warship on earth (bar the kongo class which is modeld on arliegh burke just a bit bigger)

i personaly trued two tactics which have worked,

1) a hit and run attack

come in to target from a distance make sure your tubes flooded and set and bearings what ever are done, when at 10 miles fire all the tubes you can and turn around head back out.

2) a crawl

crawl into the burke at 3 knots then set all torpedos get within 10 miles preferably on the stern of the ship then fire

works for me how about you lot ?

It'd probably be easier just to get in front of it and shoot a torpedo at it. Cruise missiles by themselves aren't going to work unless you can coordinate with another platform.

In my Kilo I hug the thermal at 2 or 3 knots and wait till I get within 5 miles and fire four fish. Boom.

Kill Burke

Without any problem - one good placed 65cm wakehomer...

Molon Labe 01-16-06 02:41 AM

Burkes, like all AI skimmers, are suckers for wakehomers. They're also easy targets for SS-N-27s, especially without the LW/Ami mod, and even with the mod they are vulnerable to shots fired from near 10 nm.

Yep, I use wakehomers too. I fire them in pairs, just to be sure.
