It pays to keep your camera with you...

...because you're more likely to catch some shots like these I took earlier today (actually yesterday now). Was driving into work on I-95 when I saw this LA class about to pass under the bridge. Fortunately, I had my Digital Rebel DSLR in the backseat ( ) and I immediately headed to Fort Trumbull where I knew I would have a good view of the action. Took a lot of shots, here are some of them:

Some of them are in RAW format, some are jpegs. I'm happy send full res versions to anyone who requests them.

I've had that same thought many times! No need to spend a billion dollars/rubles/yuan on a spy satellite-- just rent a house in New London for a few hundred a month and you can get far better intelligence. Everytime a sub heads out to sea you can see it from the whole city, and there's even a scenic tourist overlook that looks out over the Nautilus Museum and the sub base itself.

I can just picture a bunch of bored Russian spies sitting around watching Jerry Springer on TV, waiting for a sub to go by. "Pavel....da, I see one moving down the riv...What?! She slept with her WHAT?! What a pig!! I can't believe this woman!"
