Sonar/Radar Hull Coatings - any effect?

I'm curious, if it has any effect for the subs - in the game is only said, that the germans hoped, this will help again sonars.
So, what are your experiences?
Have anybody tested with and without of hull coatings?

anti sonar coating

I installed the coating, and shortly afterword I escaped from a destroyer in 130 meters of water rather easily. Prior to this I usually had to work at it for hours and suffer some damage, (sometimes 100%).

I did see some difference with Albertich. My best guess would be that it reduces the chance of a DD finding you by ~15%-30%.
