unable to join friends game
 

I can join other peoples games,and host, but not my friend ,as it loads it crashes to desk top when it is about to start after inishallising.
It happens whether I host or not and the same for my friend.
We used to play with no problems ,but after a long lay off we cannot play the same game.
I have the original install buy my friend did another install and went straight to patch 1.4b as he was told that is ok to do that as you don't require the others.
What is stopping both of use joining each other?
we have both dissabled firewalls and still no luck.
My friend can host for others aswell but not for me .

You're saying YOU have version 1.0, and your friend has 1.4b?
If that's the case, then there's the cause of your problems.
Both should run 1.0, or preferrably 1.4b.

If one of you is running IUB1.02 (for example), then the other one should be running it too....etc.

And indeed, you only need patch1.4b, to have the latest fully patched version.

You say you can join and host, and suppose you're running 1.0, then you simply join or host others with the same version.

Thanks for the reply.I did not explain that to well sorry.
I meant I have the original install with 1,4b and the other patches 1 to 3.
and I have not changed anything since when I used to play with my friend online.
Only he uninstalled a while back and gone straight to 1.4b now.
So I have not a clue as to why we can both join anyone yet we cannot choose each other!

Is one of you using a no-cd crack?

No both games are DVD bought when game first came out.
