WIP Texture mapping issues
Hey guys,
I've been attempting to mod a new aircraft with some success. Currently, I am having texture issues with it. I'm using 3DS Max v8 and Gimp for the tga editing, and Hex editor to change the minor stuff. Following the processes laid forth by the elders, I've managed to aquire enough knowledge to be dangerous. Maybe some of you guys have run into the particular problem that I have with the texture: (Disclaimer- I'm no artist and its still work in progress, but hey; its my first time) http://photobucket.com/albums/y147/T...me262_side.jpg An "ok" shot http://photobucket.com/albums/y147/T...e262_front.jpg starting to the issue with the texture http://photobucket.com/albums/y147/T...62_stealth.jpg completely disappearing wings and part of the fuselage, the skunk works engineers would love that knowledge  Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've ran several searches with no avail. |
Is BF and messershcmitt the same thing? As it´s ME262!!! :stare: :-j

I plan on changing all the files and such once its near completion. Just trying to get a start using existing classes at the time.

All your model faces are inverted by the Sh3 3D engine!
Before exporting to a WaveFront object the whole faces of the model must be inverted in their orientation otherwise the Sh3 3D engine invert it again. On CD3 of your 3DSMax v8 or if you bought the 3DSMax v8 DVD edition in the tutorial folder, there is a video tutorial on how to manipulate face orientation within Max8. |
Many thanks Seeadler. I'll try that later on, would it work better if I just started from scratch with a model then texture. I've created a complete model instead of the "by parts" that exists in the original Wavefront files.
