Hi and a couple of questions
 

Firstly hi all. My first post. Having come from a mmo background and most recently WoW, i'd like to say that all you lot seem comparitivly mature.. but i guess thats due to the type of game... anywho Hi.

Questions:

1. I have RL experience of both surface fleet and air arm operations; in my experience relatives bearings are given as Port/Stbd i.e Red/Green and corresponding bearing ffrom 1-180. Is the game model of 1-360 realistic for uboat operations? And is there a mod out there that can change it? I guess not due to the voice reports coming in.

2. I joined th 1st flotilla and am currently in T II-A, its May 1940 and i have over 3k renown and ive completed 6 patrols. Some upgrades are now available i.e. batteries, engine and elctric torps.... Just wondering how I get my hands on a new sub?

Hi! To your second question, a type VIIb will become available at some point. You will be able to select it from the same page that has the other upgrades you mentioned. It will cost renown, so if I were you I would not spend renown on upgrading a type II. Save it to use as soon as the new U-boat is available.

Is there a listing somewhere of all the sub availability dates by flotilla with SH3 commander running?

The next release of SH3 Commander will include a table in the Help file.

That would be most useful. Could you tell me offhand when a type VIIB or VIIC becomes available in the 2nd and 7th flotillas when using SH3 commander? (Standard game has VIIB available at 2nd flotilla in 1940 and available at 7th flotilla in 1939)

note - My shiny new VIIC from 1st flotilla now lies on the bottom of the ocean somewhere off the English south coast near the Channel and I need to start a new career. (Dead is Dead, and all that)

edit - apologies, it seems SH3 commander shows the starting u-boot for each flotilla when making a new career, had never noticed it before.

VIIB - Sep 39

7th:
VIIB - Sep 39
VIIC - Aug 40
VIIC/41 - Jun 44

Cheers for the info fellas... i am using SH3 Commander and guess thats what i get for joining the 1st Flotilla, working out of Brest now which is fun... was alongside there recenty and had a good look around the sub sheds... interesting port.
