Supercav goes land forces?

interestning.. any more links? though if speed of supercavitation is a directly propotional a fluids viscosity it would require great speeds. or is it a fuinction of denisty, in either ways this sounds difficult to do.

Supercav goes land forces?
Very interesting, Pigfish.
It seems incredible for a bomb to penetrate up to 70 m. of concrete or 300 meters of land, given the 7 m./30 m. maximum of the current blockbuster generation. But even a two fold increase would be sensational: penetration of 14 meters of concrete or 60 meters of earth. Go figure! Abraham (with party cap on) :-j |

Well, that has been done with artillery projectiles: http://www.aopt91.dsl.pipex.com/rail...ra%20index.htm Look at the bottom for penetration in concrete. |
Supercav goes land forces?
Thanks for the info, Wim.
Quite an impressive performance, piercing through 264 ft. of reïnforced concrete! Must have been the ultimate limit of conventional artillery performance. Abraham (with party cap on) :-j |
