Time compression in LAN multiplayer

Does time compression work in the LAN multiplayer mode? I started a regular multiplayer mission (not randomly/auto-generated) which started us in grid FF but said that we should intercept oil tankers in grid BE -- which obviously isn't going to happen without time compression? Any help?

No, there is no TC in multiplayer mode.
