I got two books from my wife for Xmas.

1- ENEMY SUBMARINE (by Wolfgang Fank) 1954 1st addition. The story of Gunther Perien Captain of U47. Written from Perien's Diaries and from saling with him in action by Wolfgang Frank. This book is really old and the photos are unreal, I've never seen photo's lanywhere on the net from this book. Even the smell of this book I know I'm in for an excellent read!


2-U-Boat 977: The U-Boat that escaped to Argentina by Heinz Schaeffer.

Mumbai is a great place to buy jewelry.

I picked up Das Boot the book as well as The Black Ship - by Dudley Pope. It's about a mutiny, based on historical research, HMS Hermoine in the West Indies in 1797. Great read so far, if you are "into" the Age of Sail genre.

Sounds great! I have the book written by Schaeffer, nice details in it. Just one thing: Perien sounds good but his name was actually Prien... :up:

U-977 is a good read.

On my honeymoon (last week of November, 1. week of december) I met Gunther Priens cousins grandson.

We had been talking with him and his girlfriend for a week or so before I found out his last name.
He looked like Dolph Lundgren too :D

He did know of his familys fame.

My missis got me a few bits and bobs; aside from the socks and underwear I got 'Wolfpack' by Kaplan & Currie, Berlin Subway for MS Train Sim and a 1/24 scale Routemaster RMC.... I am told that my VIIc will be delivered from Germaniawerft about April 1st..
