Playing dw on diff. os

Is it possible to play dw on linux? And if it's not does sonalysts has any plans to make it work with other os?

That would surprise me, given the small target market of D.W.
If you don't have Windows, you will have to install it or use CEDEGA to play D.W.
If you have a Macintosh, you will have to buy a PC or wait for the Macintels to play D.W.
It's worth it.

I do have dw now with windows xp. I'm just wondering if it could play with linux. I would like linux to give it a try due to all the good things I heard so far. Don't get me wrong I like windows, it's too costly though and those security flaws are annoying. I heard that if you upgrade your motherboard your present windows os wouldn't work and everyboy knows how much one cost...

I have upgraded basically everything on my computer. It is true that you have to activate Windows XP again if you change a lot of hardware, but you don't have to buy a new copy.

As Cochonou has already mentioned, it may be possible to play DW using Cedega. It isn't listed in the supported games database, but that doesn't necessarily mean it won't run.

DW uses mostly 'old' technology on the API front, which makes it far more likely you can get it running using wine/cedega.

I have two partitions, one with Linux, other with WinXP.

I have tried to install DW both with wine and cedega and it has been impossible to me.
With Wine I could install the first CD, but couldn't the 2nd.
With Cedega couldn't install the CD1.

I have installed various other games with no problems, so is more a question of compatibility of the game with Linux.
It will be great if Sonyalists make a Linux installer as is being more common lately.
Doom3, Quake, Unreal... it's a pity that I don't like those games... :nope:

Despite that, after trying various games, I've decided to mantain the Windows partition for playing, and Linux... for all the rest  At least untill The games are made also for Linux, or Wine and Cedega achieve more compatibility.
