Improved Tracer Shells......................
With a simple file edit, you are able to see better the tracer shells.
Now you will be able to aim with your deck gun, with not info about distance, because the shells are more visible along their travells. 3 or 4 shots will give you and idea of wich elecation you need to set, you will see well when the tracer shell fly over the target or when it is too short. MANUAL EDITING : Thanks to TimeTraveller !! and his Mini Tweaker and Tweak files !! Tracer Shells Manual Editing : 1] Open TimeTraveller’s Mini Tweaker program. 2] Browse for twek files and open the following .txt files : 3] @Shell_trace.txt Select subfile “unnamed effect” Edit : Size = 0,8 SpinAngleVariation = 0 4] @Shell_trace_Fast.txt Select subfile “unnamed effect” Edit : Size = 0,8 Any comment is welcome...... :up: |

I am working on improved textures, as part of a Gun FX Mod.......but sadly i cant found the shell water splashes to make them a little more big. I think so TT doesnt made a tweak file or i cant found it. :up: |

Personally, I think the tracer shells are too big. And it looks like a square shape when I fire it from the deck cannon. This square shape is noticeable from freecam, but it is even more noticeable from the zoom view of the deckgun.

Cannon projectile with such a big light trace? Is that realistic? That is the cannon and not the flak!?! :hmm:

Is it possible to edit flak/aircrafts MG tracers separatly? I´d like to see more visible tracers on them, would make a cool screenshots when aircraft is strafing my boat.

In SH1 we have them, tracer shells well visible along its all travel. I watch similar effect on tanks turret cannons at TV. May be it needs a special ammo, not sure if deck guns has that effect, but it was modeled in the game after all. I do nothing strange, i only increase the ball size, to make it well visible at longer ranges with lower magnifications. :up: Quote:
They can be edited in same way, but i dont do it yet...... it is next step together with splashes. Plus i am making new textures for gun muzzle fireballs and flashes, i am turning them into more yellow colour instead white. I was working on them but unsucessful ....i was not able to increase effect size of the muzzle fireball :hmm: :up: :up: |
