looking for info from another perspective

I'm trying to get some info from other countries rather than my own.

Specifically on John Monash, but 99% are from australian sites, I'm after what, say french, german, uk or american info on the matter and not be inundated to .gov.au, .com.au .anything.au sites, rather say uk university info or german history site info.

But both google/yahoo/altavista etc give me lots of australian links and that's not what I'm after :damn: .

Anyone know a way or another search engine that will specifically look at info only in specified contries?

Any help would be appreciated.

Snowsub.

Btw. Sir John Manash was the child of Jewish germans who fought in WW1 and rose to Command the Australian army in france and was the 1st to use mechinised units in support of infantry (Battle of Hamel Hill). A tactic used to win the war and is still used to this day by all militaries

You can use Google´s "Advanced Search" to filter for domain, language and much more.

tired it, didn't work as I was wanting (hopeing for something that would "filter out" .au but again all are aust linked or about Monash Uni placement or such

Thanks for the tip though

Under "Domain" select "Don´t return results from the site or domain" and then type .au into the field right next to it. It works!

thanks, when i tried that my webpage always rediverted back to google.com.au :hulk: (and plain old google.com didn't have "pages in america" option.
hmm. have to try google.de next :|\

Hmm, I thought that the GB country setting would override the re-direct - google automatically re-directs you to your home country's search engine.

Sorry :-?

I think with Yahoo you can use foumla modfiers like 'NOT' and 'OR'. For example:

"John Monash NOT University"
