Why do I only have sound when playing AVI files ?
Why do I only have sound when playing AVI files on Windows Mediaplayer. I use the newest version 10.
I would not like to install another mediaplayer, or 500 new codecs, would prefer to solve my problem with a minimal amount of tweaks / new software. Hopefully one of you can help Drebbel |
look in this topic for the answer

Thanks, but there is no answer.
The thread refers to two websites, but at http://www.codecpack.com/ there is no reference to AVI at all, and same goes for http://www.afterdawn.com/software/vi...rs/ffdshow.cfm  Or am I missing something ? |
Ok, the long winded way....
http://img471.imageshack.us/img471/2158/wmp14dz.th.jpg Right Click on the file your try to view as indicated. The should be a error/whats wrong option, which should bring up a window with the option of web help, that'll open microsofts website on the page of the error and what codec is required to fix it, also a link to the codec will be supplied. Hope this helps Snowsub |
Drebbel, you might want to try this one..
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...k_All_in_1.htm Never had anything that wont play with this installed  |
Ok, I gave up. Not gonna try to find out which codes I need, can't figure out how to do that.
Just gonna ingect my pc with a zillion codec from the codec pack mentioned by Ranius. :hulk: |
Hee, it works, thanks to you all
Now I can finally see that special-never-made-public-ubootvet footage that nobody is interested in :D |
