The Poll of Polls.

The poor level of participation in the Award polls raises the question - do we proceed beyond the current one ?

Bellman 12-15-05 11:14 AM

 Scheduled to run a week until next Thursday. :yep:

:o Well I guess I better find that spade - just in case.
It looks as if a discreet but I hope honourable burial is about to take place. :yep:

Not altogether surprising but a little disappointing for those who we simply intended to thank.  :arrgh!:

Bellman 12-16-05 06:15 AM

 The Apathy movement gathers momentum. ;)

I've started digging. :yep:

...........................................but you can forget male Suttee. :rotfl:

The idea was good, but, on the other side, we are a "small" family (compared with other games) and we all know the work of each other so maybe is not urgent to say what are the best missions.
And also is difficult to make it clearl due the only 4 option-polls.

And on the other side... the awards have the unfair part, as many good designer gets out of them without recognition.

So, an award for each mission designer for their work an the hours spent in front of the screen!!

 In industry/commerce only about 10% of ideas float and survive.
The demise of chocolat bar products is a 'veil of tears.' :rotfl:

I have no special personal investment in the success of the 'Award' process - other than a very genuine
need to express the community appreciation of others work.
But I believe in the concept of from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs. (Paraphrase)

So yes a huge thanks to all those who have toiled to modify the game, add bells and whistles, provide
site services and quite simply support their fellow players.
Lets melt the gold, silver and bronze and borrow a little of these contributors magic to infuse
the molten mixture into PLATINUM. And award all contributors the PLATINUM OF PARTICIPATION. :ping:

I still think we would be better off with a medal system... and have the medals done before the judging starts.

People like shiny things... nothing like shiny things to get people involved in something.

Merry Christmas! :D

 OK David - you seem to be getting a little confused here with 'Turkey and tinsle' :rotfl:

Bellman 12-17-05 02:11 AM

:D Well the baby nearly got washed out with the bathwater there.

David, if you want to give your medals a roll I will support you fully - the objective of 'recognition' remains good.:yep:

Perhaps with hindsight and your Fleet mate DarkSythes, long awaited insignias, the project might still have
some momentum. :hmm: ..................................and a Happy New Year to you too ! :sunny:

History - you want history ? But aint that constantly rewritten ?....................
I just hope that DarkSythes promised insignia surface in time for the 'Medal' scheme. Perhaps CADC 'sponsored' ?
OneShot has had some very, very detailed ideas. :hmm:

One compensation for age is you develop a good 'nose' :yep: ;)

Whatever - I will get onboard any 'Gongs for all' platform . .................................and sail merrily to Utopia :-j
