crash to desktop on new computer
 

I just loaded SHIII on a new computer, and can only run it for about 3 minutes before I get a crash to desktop. I have an NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT, AMD athlon 64 3000+ and 1 GB ram. Can anyone please help me troubleshoot this problem? Thanks! Joe S

1) Turn down your sound acceleration to zero in DXDIAG.

2) Make sure you have plenty of cooling in your case.

Make sure your video and audio drivers are up-to-date.

Is this a custom computer where you can access the BIOS and adjust the Vid card voltage or the voltage to the CPU?
I had a bad studdering with the video at high time compression until I increased my vid card voltage from 1.5v to 1.6v.
This also sounds like not enough heatsink/fan to cool the processor.
Open the side of the case and use a small house fan to blow into it. See if that helps.

Is it a "Clean Version" of SH3..... :hmm: ......i use to Crash.....due to certain "Mod's"......not working correctly. :doh:
