List of JSGME-compatible mods?

After just having returned to SHIII after many months of absence, I've been browsing through all the mods available here.

So far, I've installed the JSGME, and IUB1.02.
But I would like to try - for example - some skymods, and small sound-mods.
I'd like to keep things simple, and that's why I want to limit my modifications to those that work with the JSGME.

Is there a list somewhere, with all the JSGME-compatible mods?
The only way to find out, if a mod from the site above is compatible, is to download it, and view a readme, or to take a look at the folder-structure.

Most mods these days are JSGME compatible.

So you suggest, that I go by the release-date of the mod in question?

Marhkimov 12-07-05 02:43 PM

Yeah, that's probably a good idea. It's been quite some time since I've seen a mod that wasn't JSGME compatible...

k, thx :)

The latest JSGME-version is from Sept.2nd 2005, so I figure that there's a good chance a mod is compatible, if it's released well after this date.

But now this: how do I make a correct zip of a JSGME-incompatible mod (already installed), so that it becomes compatible?
This way, I would be able to use the mod in question with JSGME, or make it available for download.
For example, I have a new sound for the Hurricane (actually 2 sounds...one is a damaged_wave)....how to create a JSGME-compatible zip?
I know I have to regard some folder-structure, but how many folders do I include "upwards"?

The JSGME-helpfile isn't very clear about it.

Still it may be a good idea, to have some sort of a list...

Let me start:

- JSGME

- IUB1.02

- improved Hurricane-sound

It's really quite simple to make something JSGME compatible. That's why everyone does it.

I'll use for example, your Hurri sounds. Each name is a folder or file.

Hurricane_Sounds
--data
----Sound
------Hurricane airplane.wav
------Hurricane airplane Damaged.wav
readme
pictures (optional)

In other words, your sound files go into the "Sound" folder. The Sound folder goes in the "data" folder. The data folder goes in the "Hurricane_Sounds" folder. The readme and pictures (optional) go in the "Hurricane_Sounds" folder.

When you're done, zip or 7z the "Hurricane_Sounds" folder.

Hope that helps,
Marhkimov.

:know: nine times out of ten if "data" is the next chain of command in the mod file folder it is compatible The latest JSGME-version :hmm: i think

Also, if you don't want the readme or pictures to be copied into the game (and why would you?) plonk them into a folder titled "documentation". That folder is ignored by JSGME. Thus:

Hurricane_Sounds
--data
----Sound
------Hurricane airplane.wav
------Hurricane airplane Damaged.wav
--documentation
----readme
----pictures (optional)

There's two good JSGME tutorials here (one's in a link half way down) if you get into trouble. ;)

BTW, there are many mods released prior to Sep that are JSGME compatible. JSGME first came out around late-April this year.

:D thank you very much.

I made my Hurricane-soundmod compatible with JSGME.
Just put the file into your MODS-folder.

Download it here, 600KB.
