Trav_R 12-01-05 10:58 PM

Kinda makes me wonder what would happen if there was another real war between real superpowers with real subs. Today's merchant ships and tankers are so huge, that just taking down a single one would be a pretty noticable blow to a country's economy. Add to that the fact that modern subs are so much more capable, it would seem they wouldn't have any trouble at all taking down an entire country's merchant fleet in no time. I know that ASW has advanced rapidly as well, but still, subs are subs. You'd think they'd be able to do plenty of damage.

davidaspy 12-02-05 06:58 AM

Just look between those two picture. The oil really does weigh her down.

Krupp 12-02-05 07:28 AM

:o ...hmmm.... does the small text in the stern of that beast say "We break for no one"?

12-02-05 10:17 AM

Now that's what you could call a large ship! Mabe 6 simultaneosly fired eels right under the keel coul blow her up. All the oil might speed the burning process up! :ahoy: Oh; and by the way, what is the largest warship built?

Col7777 12-02-05 10:20 AM

Think of the oil slick if that was torped.

12-02-05 10:23 AM

Quite a natural catastrophe! Couldn't any modder make a SH3 file of that tanker??? I'd like to try to torp it :know:

VegaBond 12-02-05 11:24 AM

I think the biggest warship was The Yamato (biggest battleship) and modern i think largest warship is Nimitz class aircraft carrier..

12-02-05 04:41 PM

Well those are som quite large ships!

The Yamato Class:

Quite large ships, huh?

~S~ :hmm: :hmm: :know: :hmm: :hmm:

Kalach 12-02-05 09:26 PM

If a 20k ton liner can shrug off 4 torps and keep going it would be quite the challenge to sink that :o (with a WW2 era sub at least ;) )
