What sub sims could use........

.....ala flight sims for years.

The ability for two or more human players to man different posts online. Communicate via voice comms software, etc. Different player as captain, navigator, weapons, etc.

Flight sims have had this ability for years, i.e., pilot/co-pilot, etc.

Seems like it'd be a hoot in subsims too.

It certainly is!
Not only multiplayer/multi-stations on various Subs...(Kilo, Seawolf, Akula, 688I) but P-3 Orion, M60 Helo, FFG Oliver Perry too!!

Sorry I disagree. Spending hours slowly attacking and then creeping away is far different that the in your face action of flight sims.

Why would one have to wait for hours ? Time Compression :) Besides, in various flight sims, F4 Balkans theater i.e., it can take up to an hour in real time to reach your ip.

the multiplayer crew concept would add a new dimension to a sub sim... at least i think so...

but in order to make it really entertaining, there must be more to do than just press D to dive, and stuff like that... there has to be a lot of 'hands on' in the operation of the sub systems, the sensors, and the weapons...

yeah... having a 'real' crew would really 'rock' :yep:

now imagine having a couple of real crews, sub, surface, and air... pitted against each other...

Exactly; it'd be best if each station had to do their tasks in a much more "labor intensive" way than currently.
I.e., each station modeled more realistically, etc.
