"Where the hell is he going?"
"Due south....straight for the African coastline."

"ALL THE POWER YOU'VE GOT CHIEF!! ALL THE POWER YOU'VE GOT!!"

You might want to hug the North African coast a little more? And time your run to avoid the more predictable patrol routines?

It's a lively and tiny stretch of water, to which we are not invited!

Good luck, Kapitan, and Happy Landings on the other side!

U-124 is my favorite U-Boat. Hence my username... :know: (AG are my initials). 124 is actually my "lucky number" now, even though I don't believe in stuff like that. :rotfl:

A good book on U-124 is Grey Wolf, Grey Sea by E. B. Gasaway (it also has an introduction by Admiral Doenitz). It has recently been reissued. :) Here is a Amazon.ca link (top) and an Amazon.com link (bottom):

Holy [censored]!

:o

We're still a bit shaken up. We approached under cover of night and heavy fog, carefully using combinations of surfacing and batteries. Ran smack into what must have been a convergence of inbound and outbound convoys and an absolute Destroyer fest. Took out two C3's, turned around and got the heck out.

I could not believe the traffic there.
