Biggest Convoy
 

What is the largest (number of ships) convoy you have encountered? Is there a maximun number and are all "large" or "small" convoys the same size?

24 merchants (troop ship to small merchant)...4 escorts...one thong....and a magnum of champagne.

Yeah - I'd say it was about 25-30 ships with 4 escorts (not including the light cruiser in the the middle who got really upset about what I did and came after me as well). On my own I can only hope to take a few down before they come after me. Being in the midst of a large convoy makes me wish for other wolves to carve out more tonnage. :hulk:

the biggest one I've encountered so far was a 15 ship one with a light cruiser which happened to be on the recieving end of three of my beautiful fish, sank in less then a 10 minutes.

The last convoy I engaged was also the largest... I didn't count them, but I'd estimate it had at least 30 ships with 4 escorts. That was in the AL sector in April of 42. I plucked a T2 and a T3 with my last fish and beat it.

The most escorts I ever ran into was off of Gibraltar in 41. 7 of them hounded me for several hours while the convoy just sat there, slowly turning in circles. The experience was painful... A bunch of sitting ducks and I couldn't get near them because the UberEscorts kept me down with depth charges. Almost lost the boat that day.

I've seen around 35 with Improved Convoys.

It could theoretically be bigger than that, but most people's computers wouldn't handle such huge formations too well.
