HELP - HT1.46 AI u-boat skin problem

1) Below is my own VIIB u-boat with Fubar's camo skin.

2) Below is the docked VIIC41 AI u-boat with Fubar's PLAIN skin. (Notice the splotched conning tower)

3) Below is a patrolling VIIC41 AI u-boat with the same PLAIN skin as in the picture above. (but notice the plain conning tower)

My question is...

Why is the docked AI u-boat using my camo skin??? As I understand it, the AI boats have their own skins and conning towers, therefore they should be using their own skins! Apparently, there is no problem with the patrolling AI u-boat.

And my camo skin are only located within two places:
data\Submarine\NSS_Uboat9b\NSS_Uboat9b.dat
data\Submarine\NSS_Uboat9c\NSS_Uboat9c.dat

-Currently using HT1.46 and RUb 1.44.

-Screenshots taken in campaign mode. 29th flotilla, La Spezia, 1st of January 1942.

My guess is that Rubini cloned stock conning towers to be used with AI boats when they are docked but did not changed names of TGA textures/plates inside DAT files of cloned conning towers. TGA names refer to textures used by stock subs, i.e. player subs, that is probably why you get your sub texture on AI boat.

I checked and Sergbuto is right.

Inside 'Turm7c_8_hd.dat' and 'Turm7c_9_hd.dat', the textures have the same name as the player's VIIC u-boat (NSS_Uboat7c_hull.tga). So Rubini, can you fix this?

btw, if you need some reference, Turm7c_5, 6, 7 are cloned correctly...

marhkimov,
sergbuto,

You are right mates! I cloned that towers again when sergbuto fix the reflection for uboats...I 'm going in a trip in few hours and dont have time to do this now. So can you guys, sergbuto or marhkimov, make this ASAP? :hmm:
If so please post the files to me later.

Many thanks,

Rubini.

I was wondering the same thing. I went to put the camo skin on my sub and noticed the AI had the camo conning tower. I just thought it was a game glitch and changed all AI boats to have the same skin I got. I am highly looking forward to a fix. :yep:

That makes me wonder, are the files on your site, sergbuto, the right ones with the matching conning towers? Would it be safe to use them instead of the ones in harbor traffic mod? Why would docked U-boats have a different file than ones on the move?

Hello Syxx,

When I return if nobody fix it yet I will do, ok? Only 2 days...

That's ok with me. :yep:

I usually play SH3 in spirts now. I play for a little bit then put the game up for a while. I can easily wait 2 days (or even longer now). Take your time. :()1:

Yeah, take your time... I can wait 2 days if needed!

Hi folks,

Here is a link in JSGME format with the AI uboats textures names fix. Please notice that this is only important for the guys who wants to modify the stock uboats external textures and have problems with AI uboats textures. These will be the standard in the next HT release.

Rubini, does it mean that new HT is incoming quickly?
Maybe this week? :sunny:

Marhkimov 11-17-05 03:56 PM

Thanks for the fix Rubini. Sorry, I didn't realize that you posted it...
