To the millions of men, women and children who gave or were forced to give their lives because of the insanity of a handful. May we never be struck by the same misfortune they were. We should work hard to bring other people's quality of life up to ours, and never let jealousy or greed bring damage to those who do not wish it upon themselves.

May it never happen again, but I fear madness is occuring again in the name of "god".
To All the brave men, women and children who died: thank you

If anyone doesn't know, today is Veterans Day in the US... What about everywhere else?

Teufelschiff 11-11-05 04:46 PM

<------ USMC 6 years. Warm greetings to any fellow veterans.

Nobody...especially professional/career military want war. Those, in particular, who have seen the horror and destruction it brings...could ever believe its a good or glorious thing. But...sometimes it is necessary. People who would undermine the foundations of a peaceful and non-oppressing civilation to impose their beliefs and ideaology on a non-receptive society do not always take a simple " no thank you" for an final answer. When that does not happen...and they do not get or understand the State Department's platitudes...then someone has got to lay down his plow, his screwdriver or his pencil and go kill them.
Thank you veterans (both combat and non-combat) for the courage and sacrifices you have shown and made for a very ungrateful citizenery who fail to realize that the privilages they enjoy and take for granted were bought and paid for with your blood, sweat and tears.
Saw a bumper sticker couple of weeks ago: "GIVE WAR A CHANCE, PEACE AND LOVE HAVE FAILED TO GET THE JOB DONE"

It is Rememberance Day in Canada and I think every Commonwealth country.

The only day of the year that makes my tough and gruff grandpa sad.

Pathetic how we always make an effort to commemorate the sacrifices of the generations before us and we're still turning young men into soldiers and sending them off to die.

Lest we forget. Pray we one day understand.

Yes, at least now the strong countries in the world have learned the lesson, so we have no wars anymore.

Oh wait... my mistake!
