Another U-Boat lost!
 

After 8 succesful patrols, 2 fleet carriers sunk, 2 large convoys decimated and many decorations the U-52 was lost with all hands.

In it's time the U-52 was never once depth charged or even close to being discovered by enemy warships. Unfortantely this loss wasn't due to enemy action. Being careful to return to port, the Captain decided to patch to v1.4. Expecting to be able to continue his career, he found that it wasn't even an option. Luckily there were saved games? Yes, but unfortuntely as soon they are loaded the game would crash to desktop therefore ending this highly successful career.

Oh well, I've started another a career but it sucks to lose my crew. They were highly decorated and skilled and now it's just painful to deal with this ship of noobs that I've been assigned. Does anyone know of a way I can get them back? The old career is still "on the books" I just can't access it anymore.

Maybe:
-uninstall and re-patch to an earlier version
-lorad your career make several save new games
-save while in port
-re-patch to 1.4

Or
-use the Campaign files of your older version with 1.4 (Campaign_RND, etc)
-save while in port
-install the correct campaign files

Thanks for your reply. This sounds like a better option as I really don't want to go about reinstalling things again. Unfortunately I don't really understand what you mean. Could you provide some more detail as to how I would go about doing this?

It can do that? Does it modify anything with how the game plays?
