Officer on the bridge, please?
Just finished-up SH3 for now. The weather is kind of lousy. Lots of submerging and surfacing. Mid-1942, more enemy aircraft are out and about now. As usual my favorite Officer is sleeping in the sub, the dreaded 'Bridge-Officer' :88)
Most players know the Bridge-Officer must be on the bridge, to issue orders for AA-guns (and deck-gun), and he also voices audible bearings for ships, when spotted. I watch (if needed) Machinist-rated Officers auto-transfer from Diesel to Electric compartments, then back again when needed. Torpedo-rated officers will move to the compartment when double-clicking on the 'Bow-Torpedo' or 'Stern-Torpedo' lettering (above each compartment). Is there any possible way to mod this game so the (Bridge) Officer auto-transfers to the Bridge, when surfacing? My PO (Watchman) and others know when to go up on the bridge and do their jobs. I know this has been discussed quite a bit. Sure wish this problem could be modded so he'd 'default' to the bridge, also when surfacing too. The only things I've notice; he's always to be found in the front bow-quarters, and I have to drag/drop 'em on the Bridge, every single time after surfacing. Also notice if a game is saved with the Bridge Officer on the bridge, the save-game retains that info, and places him on the bridge again when loading that save-game. It's strange that reloading that save-game will keep him on the bridge, but playing the game won't. It'd be a helpful mod, if double-clicking on the word "Bridge" (in the Crew-Compartment), -forced- the Officer to the bridge. Another possibility for modding the F7 Crew-screen. Moving 'only' the Officer's front Bow-Quarter rest-slot, right next to the Bridge-slot. At least that would make for an fast/easy drag-and-drop. After all the dragging and dropping, I'd be more happy with a mod that -glues- him to the bridge, submerged or not! :ahoy: |
