Firstly on the subject of the piggybanks. Those people calling for such bans are out of touch with Muslim people in Great Britain. My family and friends have spoken about this and we all agree it is a load of PC bullsh@t. Neither myself nor my friends could give a toss about banks and piggybanks. It's an old tradition.
Secondly regarding AL's "Go outside and have a pint" link. Again I say that this is out of touch with British Muslims. If British Muslims were really so offended or felt threatened by caffes/restaurants serving alchohol outside or on the terraces then they would be locking themselves indoors 24/7. Anyone who has been to the UK would know that from the prevalence of pubs, bars, and foody places that serve alchohol to compliment food. |
Do Brits HAVE the right to freedom of speech? Well, obviously every human "has" the right, but can they exercise it without fear of punishment?

Holy...Pig
A quick search and this LMAO... He's waiting for the right moment. He's hoarding loose change. When the time is right, he'll spring, and hell will break loose. Beware the evil pig . . . coming to get you. http://www.cyberallies.com/piggy.jpg |
That pig might be tough looking but somebody still managed to tag him...

In Finland a firm makes driving obstacles like this one. http://www.lemminkainen.fi/productca...8421&Item=9985 The city of Vantaa was going to use them but some muslims protested to the city council so they were removed.

There's a show on ABC here called Media Watch, which devotes itself to uncovering shoddy journalism. It turns out that a story about banning piggy banks - which almost all Australian newspapers carried - is total bollocks.
http://www.abc.net.au/mediawatch/tra...s/s1494636.htm Unless someone posts a source that directly quotes a bank employee saying they have banned piggy banks, I'm not believing it for a second. This kind of sensational story makes editors salivate, so much so that they are willing to forego basic fact checking. |
