Akula 65CM tubes
I don't have a clue what I am doing wrong. I have been working off and on all day to try and figure it out. I can not mark a target to a tube conatining a 65CM tube in the Akula(s). I can fire a snap shot but I can not target with Tubes 1-4, no problem with 5-8 I tried them.
Only the Akula(s) are having a problem. All the other boats are fine. :damn: :damn: :damn: Ron Banks MMCM(SS), USN(Ret) PS this is the first time I have tried the Akulas in DW, never a problem in SC. |
I'n not sure if I understood your problem correctly, but I try to answer:
Tubes 1-4 are 53cm, and 5-8 65cm. So you shouldn't even be able to put 65cm in those tubes. If might be a bug (I noticed a similar one in kilo: you can put certain missiles in kilo tubes 5-6 (can't remember which), but you can't launch them.) Or did you mean that you couldn't wire-guide your 65cm torpedoes? In the LWAMI mod they have removed the wire-guidance from the 65cm torpedoes, since in reality they don't have that in them. If somebody knows better, please correct me. :hmm: |
tubes one to four are for 65cm only
1) have you got the lwami 202 mod if so the torpedos have changed to wake homeing but they should still be wire guided. ive hard a similar problem but you must make sure that your target is classified on TMA and by sonar before you can even think about firing to target (lernt that yesterday) anything i missed give me a shout signed your faithful and trusted akula skipper :D |

Akula Problem
I have the first Mod 200 I believe, I did not load the second because it was more involed than my limited knowledge will allow. Target was another sub, a Han. I can fire the 65 on snap shot but could not wire guide it. When I it "w" nothing happened. I will run another test right now.

Just tried again
I just tried a quick mission off the US West Coast, controlable sub was an Akula II, target was a Han.
I had tubes 1-4 loaded with 65 CM torpedoes, and could not assign a target which happened to MO1, I can however assign a 53 CN loaded in tubes 5-7. I can only fire on a snap shot bearing, but wire guid does not work. I only started working with the Akula yesterday, as I have been try to learn the other platforms. I have no problems with any but the Akula, I also tried it on regular missions. Do I need to un-install and start over or what? Oh I did have a solid TMA solution. Thanks, Ron Banks MMCM(SS), USN(Ret) |
You can't fire 65cm against submerged targets. It won't work. All wakehoming torpedos are for surface targets only now.

I have sent another version of the mod to Bill that installs the mod directly to your DW folders, just as in LWAMI 2.00.
It should be posted soon. |
Just Finished
I just tried again, this time target was a surface ship the French Carrier, used 65 CM, was able to assign target but as you said no wire guidance.
I have "LWAMI_V200_Mod last changes.zip" installed, and I have been using that one for some time. Oh I sunk CV, successfully. So 65 now only works with surface targets and no wire control, correct. Thank you, Ron Banks MMCM(SS), USN(Ret) |
How in the world did you get that?
That's a working copy we were using. :hmm: In any case, I've asked Bill to post a version of 2.02 that installs directly from the unzip like in 2.00, so you should try that version once he posts it. |
Where did I get it?
God did I screw up, I got it from SubGru quite a while back. Will I be able to run all the sceanrios from 2.02?
Did I do something wrong downloading the version I got? It works ok except for the problem I stated. Thanks, Ron Banks MMCM(SS), USN(Ret) |
No no, you didn't screw anything up!
Stand by for 2.03, though, it will be as easy to install as 2.00 and will have all our latest updates and additions! |
Thanks
Roger that LuftWolf, I am standing by.
