1939-1942
 

For some reason I can't bring myself to play anything but a W@W patrol, and we are in March of 1942. Can someone tell me what everything before then is like?

it's monoton. There are many single ships small number of convoys. But the escort ships are sometimes "stupid"

I have three separate careers going, one for each flotilla, and I've just barely reached January 1940. One of my captains has met two convoys, small and escorted mainly by armed trawlers, though one had two destroyers and a light cruiser. They never saw me and I never saw them (I cheated and looked around with the free cam after I was already leaving). My poor type II has only seen Norwegians, never a single enemy ship in two patrols. He's in the middle of his third patrol right now, and has finally sunk two coastal merchants, for a grand total of 3000 tons.

If you don't like long patrols and never seeing anything, stick with 1942. Me, I like the early period-it's a lot safer!
