Scapa Flow Sub Nets

Ok...probably a silly question. I'm doing a single mission into Scapa Flow. I heard so much about it I thought I'd give it a shot.

So I sneak into it at night submerged and hit a sub net. Minimum damage repaired quickly and no Brits seems to know I'm here.

My question is, how do you get past them? :(

I dunno, maybe find the end of the subnet, then drive around it? :88)

Doh! Thanks Gizz. My specific quesion is: Is there a commonly known lane to slip past the sub nets or is it all hit and miss?

;)

As far as I know the western entrance is completely blocked. You can drive right through the middle of the southern entrance.

I'll give that a try. I was sailing on the eastern side of the (south entrance) channel.

Thanks Gizz!

BaronVonSchnitzel,

I was as Scapa Flow just a few patrols ago, and remember the fence too... :88) I uploaded a small map for future trips there.

Below is a picture of a safe-opening at Scapa. It's for entering the harbor from south to north, at the most narrow point of the entrance.

Press F5 in the game, and zoom-in your map view to 2500m (map zoom-scale is displayed in the lower-left hand side of the map). The 'east-west' measuring line I drew is close to where the fence is.

There's an opening about 1600-meters from the right-hand side of the shore. Just enter there and it should be fine.

Thanks, Average! I'll print that out. Should be very helpful. ;)

Why not just surface in the middle of the night (or in the middle of a storm with poor visibility) and sail right over it ? That's what I did... ;)

BUT - maybe I hit the safe route by chance and there is no way to pass above the net... :hmm:
