Port of Spain? Get into mah belleh!
The Caribbean Sea is allegedly a busy area, but will I be rewarded for leaving the rather unfriendly western coast of Europe?
I wouldn't mind going there at all... and by the end of the war, we could all settle on our private Caribbean island. :know: |
I think you should install the latest Improved Convoys mod if you're going to remote areas, since the stock game neglects many busy shipping lanes if they're not close to Western Europe.

Yes, it's worth it. Some serious air cover at the eastern side near Port of Spain, some Elco and destroyer groups between Curacao and Port of Spain but practically no warships in EC01-29 grids, with more big single merchs than you can sink. Apparently, some hunter-killers are supposed to be there later on as well, but I haven't seen any. My favourite hunting ground.

Is San Fernando a harbour with a good amount of anchored ships? I've decided that as soon as I get 7500 renown, I'm OWNING that IXC that will take me down to the Caribbean!
However... I've only got 500 renown as per now. Oh, well! Will have to sink some ships, then! Watch out, Limeys! |
Can't remember exactly but Curacao and Port of Spain usually have a small tanker, T2 or two and small merch parked there. San Fernando I think had the same. However, it's very shallow there with warships and planes a plenty, so you may want to reconsider it :) Curacao is 'guarded' only by an unarmed trawler ( a bug?) making it easier. These ports are very tight, so you'll get a bit awkward shots, therefore you'll be better of hunting out in the open waters.

How about Key West? Tight, stock harbour (arrrghh, I hate the stock layout...), but might contain some heavy yankees?? :P
