Abandon Ship ! - option
Hi,
All those reports of lost Uboats with "all hands lost" are getting me upset :) Is there a possiblity to build in "surrender" or abandon ship option - then some of us might become POWs.... |
yes indeed it would be a very nice addition. I think it was discussed often here, but it needs very deep changes in the game, currently impossible or not yet discovered.
I think in Silent Hunter 7 in 2009 we get this option. As soon as you find yourself in a POW-camp in northern scotland, the game-engine changes to an lucasarts-style adventure game where you have to do a lot of thinks to escape from there. Like making new passports and tools, fooling the guards, get together you escape-crew, quarrel around with these arrogant luftwaffe and ss-officers, digging tunnels and then, when you got out of the POW-camp, you will be transfered to an action-adventure . Then you have to steal cars, shooting around and find a radio to contact the bdu, fight your way to the coast and get into that waiting submarine. And then after two years non-naval action you start in Wilhelmshaven with 0 renown in an Type II boat late in the war. *just dreaming* :hmm: :rotfl: |
That all sounded great except for the Type II boat, Ugh !!!

That would be a nice option... it's hard to lose a crew.
@ Commander : Or you could just use 3 programs - SHIII to abandon ship, CoD to fight your way out of the POW camp and get to the airfield (Actual missions in the game) and IL2:FB to fly your way back to Germany :|\ |
Sorry, CFS3 instead Il-2....

[] Keep ship [] Sink it! I think you can have up to 7 ships plundering the atlantic with you - so long as you have enough crew for them ;) |
It would be interesting if the next verson of SH3 Commander added a randomly-generated list of survivor sfrom your crew if the sub was lost.
