http://www.git.com.au/~voyager_tek/type36A.jpg Now if I can only get the Small mast at the rear to move and fix the cables. I've tried several times to get the blasted mast to move and every time its still in the same possy. :-? |
Re: Type 36A (M)

Great!!!!!!! :o :o
How do you try to change the second mast? The secret is in the chunk type 4 that control his position. The original is the type 34 , true? I will see that. Cheers, |

But ahhhh, i have the solution. It needs to be cloned once again, when importing other ships objects or objects from the orginal, uncloned ship. I have ever used other objects or from the original. That is way, i had to clone after importing or changing objects. I think so. |
for comparison
Info for people who are wondering about differences from the type 34:

"....red-bottomed boats, you make the rockin' world go round...." (sorry) ;) So there was a 6Inch dual gun on the "anton"-position and 3 6 Inch Singles aft from 43 - 45? Huh, that is a very powerful destroyer armament! :o Does the existing 6inch dual gun from Bismarck fit to the type34 model? Unfortunately there is no 6inch Single gun. This is a very common weapon and we don't have it. Anyone can make one? ;) |
Great :)

yep indeed great work so far....
Keep on! :D |

Great job! Don't be too hard on yourself, since I couldn't even do a gmax tutorial if my life depended on it. :rotfl: BTW, I think that changing the "y" coordinates of an object in Wings3d causes problems, so that could be the reason (if that's what you've been doing). |
hm, i haven't experienced these problems.
this is my way: Quote:

I was just wondering this myself. Thanks for showing the difference. Can the new Modded 36A (M) have a bigger gun up front as shown in those comparison shots? Is it possible? I believe it's the 15cm L/48 C/36 (5,9"). |
I started out with a full clone of the Type 34, Then I exported the Cloned Type 36A and imported it into 3D Max 7. I then use the modifer tab and select edit mesh. With the surface tool I flip any polys that are inverted and then select the Element tool and select the entire Mast object. I then move it to where I want it on the Type 36A's hull. I then deselect the modifier tab and delete all unused objects only leaving the modified Mast. I then export it back out of Max and back into the 3D folder as an obj file inside the Type36a folder in the Sea folder. Then with Pack3d I import the New modified Mast back into the Type36a.dat. End resault, no change - Bugger !!!!!!!!!!!
I will be giving it another bash tonight, hopefully we get this sorted. I have used the Dual 5" Turret from the Somners DD. I know its not a 6" Turret but its in keeping with the same style of Turret as the singel 5" Turret. This is because we dont have any single 6" Guns in a Turret. Now I could use the Dual 6" Turrets off the Bismark but without a Single 6" Turret to match it kinda looks silly. Its all about compromise and doing the best with what we have. I have run a mission with 1 x Bismark, 1 x Tirpitz, 4 x type34's and 2 x type 36A's V's 1 x KGV, 1 x Revenge, 1`x Nelson, 2 x Didio's , 2 x Fiji's, 8 x Tribal's, 2 x J Class and 2 x Blackswans. Now whilst the Bismark and the Tirpitz are sunk they usually take out all the British capital ships bar the cruiser's, the Cruiser's and DD's usually kill off the Type 34's and the type 36A's usually kill off the Cruiser's and any remaining DD's/DE's. So in retrospect I believe she's pretty damn mean as is :) |
