I´ve just downloaded the opera web browser...

and it feels very good so far to me.

Scrolling here in the forum is much smoother than firefox was the first thing i noticed.

Also it looks "stylish" ;) nice fading effects...
Options are intuitive accessable.

You can easiely import your bookmarks

Give it a try:

I've been using Opera for about a year now. I really like it. Friends have recommended firefox, and I have it on my partner's laptop. Great browser for sure (I actually prefer Firefox aesthetically ) but I don't see any huge feature advantage over Opera.

I thought about downloading Opera, but I have been using Firfox for quite while. I've gotten used to it. I really like the extensions available for Firefox.

Had used Firefox for a year or so, but I find the last Opera version better and have changed now. It indeed scrolls smoother! :sunny:
Till now you had to life with comercial-banners, but now you get the full Opera version for free.

Firefox also has a "smooth scrolling" feature, but it´s not activated by default. You can find it under Options/Advanced.

I actually like it better without smooth scrolling. It just feels more responsive.

A other adventage is, that when you had written a post in this boards, and wanted to add a smiley after you had written the text -somewhere in the text - by just clicking on the smiley to the left - it would be added from firefox to the end of your text - and you had to cut and paste it to the wanted location in your text. With opera I just click in the right text-location and then on the smiley menu to the left and -voila.... The differences are subtil - but there...

But on the other hand - opera seems to have some problems with saving web-pages. If you go to an online page of some newspaper and read an article, you have usualy the option to show it in an printable format. A new window opens, and you get the article with pictures without the menues and comercials. In firefox you can click left and just 'save as...' this page. opera seems to have some problems with this...
