Possible solution to SB Audigy 2 problems

I was experiencing freezes when starting a career even after using FSAUTOSTART with up to date video and audio drivers.

The following seems to have fixed it:

go to control panel : Sounds and Audio devices
select the audio tab
in midi music playback select Microsoft GS wavetable SW synth

and thats it.

Avoiding channelling music through SB seems to do the trick

Hope this helps someone

What was the original problem? And, also, what was the original setting there? I would like to see what the difference is.

The original problem was freezing when starting a career mission. The original setting was Audigy 2.

I have been trying to nail down my issue with flashing green artifacts that get worse and worse progressivly till the game freezes up.

Other then setting my apature down to 128 (which only seemed to reduce, not eliminate the issue), this seemed to do the trick!

Thank you for this information, it helped greatly!
