i am english but have the crews speech set to german for a more realistic feel ,dosn,t quite seem right to me in english.
maybe thats why i watch das boot in german with english subtitles.

whats your prefrence

ENGLISH OR GERMAN.

oh yeh and i can't speek a word of german.

Marhkimov 09-16-05 01:11 PM

I am an American, but I prefer my crew to speak German... There's nothing like a little immersion to go with my sim, even if I can't understand a word of it.

But then again, in my gramophone I have wartime classics such as Celine Dion's "Power of Love" and DHT's "Listen to your Heart."

lol :rotfl: the english navy would be well scared if they herd celine dion coming on the hydraphone . love it.

Having the sim in english ruins all immersion. Have to have them speak in german. :yep:

hditano 09-16-05 01:35 PM

I'm an American too (Argentinian), but German 4TW!

UZO_Kapitän 09-16-05 01:54 PM

Definitely German voice audio with English messages. I'm sure Celine Dion can speak / read better German than I can.

What doesnt seem right. Yes, I do have a leg up on those who do not understand German let alone speak a word of it.

What they are saying in the sim is correct. But I would have to have my mom confirm the translation. (hint, hint she IS German) :D

Or for those who are german on these boards can confirm also. :yep:

Teufelschiff 09-16-05 02:13 PM

Where can I get this software? And it works in German?

As I'm german I play in german and I'm glad that for once its the more suitable way - other games I rather like in english style ;)

Same as you others, I'm American, but use the German voices with English text.

It took all of about 5 minutes of the default English voices for me to change to German voices...the English voices don't even have German accents, just plain US English which didn't fit on a U-boat at all.

gdogghenrikson 09-16-05 06:35 PM

yea, it is funner with german talking

Redbear 09-16-05 06:52 PM

I'm an American, but I also have SHIII set to German voices with English subtitles. I agree it adds a lot to the game. I did study German for a few years in school, so I understand it a little.

Syline 09-16-05 07:17 PM

I'm German but I play the game in English. ;) I hear German all the time so it's nothing special for me, and I generally prefer English in games, even if it's a german U-Boot game. ;)

Am British and play in english, love to play it in German but wouldn't havn't have a clue what they were saying and then that would comprimise my crew.I'll stick to know what I know and no disrespect to anyone.
