I've always a passing intrest in WW2 but mainly in the Allied aircraft so I've played a few flightsims over the past 10 years but SH3 is the first sub-sim I've played, Almost didn't buy it but I'm glad I did. I thought it would end up on the shelf gathering dust but I'm really into the game now. Soon afterwards I got the film Das Boot to see if I could learn a thing or two and now I've started reading "Iron coffins" by Herbert A. Werner so I guess I've got the bug now. I'm currently on patrol 4 of career 2 (career 1 is on hold cos 1943 is a nightmare) and I've also had a go online but not recently, Thanks to all the modders and the community for all the topics I've read while lurking here, All good stuff so I thought I'd finally surface and say hello :D

Amen to that. It kind of drives my wife a little bonkers, as she's used to me talking about airplanes, airplanes, airplanes all of the time. I haven't touched MSFS for weeks now - I dread re-learning the procedures for my PMDG 737 - but now my wife gets a steady diet of Beck's and u-boats. At least she's 1/2 German, so she understands a lot of the language and culture, which I don't.

LOL

I consider myself a flightsim nut too... but haven't touched them since I parachuted into the Atlantic and was picked up by a U-Boat.
