tankeriv torpedo mod
A torpedo mod .
I have skinned them all but this is the only one I took screenshots of. http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/4757/g7a17eb.jpg http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/117/g7a27wv.jpg http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/2483/g7a38xh.jpg http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/4651/g7a43oh.jpg And? Realistic huh? Did all of them. Same style. :) |
I see you do not use your sea-bottom mod. :-j

No id. This mod has been made before the floor mod. :) |
Pardon me for asking but are these colors based on real torpedoes?
Come to think of it, what color were real torpedoes? Green? Gray? |

Initial G7A torpedo's. Found a picture of a crew loading a G7A in a Type VIIB 1939. |
very nice work!

If anything, it shows the main body of the torpedo being a light metalic color (steel?) and the front a dark color. There's also a color picture, showing a fully greased torpedo being loaded but you can't make out the color under the grease. What was the color of the torpedoes in the movie Das Boot? I seem to recall them being green. :hmm: |
that mod looks sweet

Seems a shame to waste them on ships after all that polishing, but I suppose I will. :)
|
Now they look as expensive as they were!
Thanks! Kai |
Here's another real torpedo pic from the Munich Museum. This, too, conforms with the shades shown in the B&W pic. Looks pretty authentic, actually.
Now we need to ask what did the developers base their color schemes on? Update: The torpedo in the Chicago Museum's U-505 exhibit has a dulled steel body with a green/blue head, pretty much what in-game. |
I tell ya, the picture description says : A German u boat crew is loading a pre-war steam torpedo.
(* a color picture *) btw its a color picture. Will look for the book. I still have it somewhere. :ping: |
