Yup, those Sunderlands and Catalinas can be a pain in the anus when it comes to collisions. If I only see them coming I always hit ahead flank and hard to side. As they tend to bomb me while diving, shooting them down makes them continue their flight right onto my deck. I have never been sunk with bombs. With collisions - many times.

Same thing happened to me in April 45 shot down a Sunderland and it decided to crash into my conning tower destroying all my flak guns killing 1 officer and all my Elite flak gunners and to add salt to my injury next patrol the same thing happend again.

CoPilot " I say isn't that a jolly old U boat on the surface"
Pilot "I do believe you are correct old boy "
Gunner "Look out he's shooting at us."
Pilot "Cheeky blighter, well we will soon fix him. Ok chaps stand by to ram."
Gunner "Excuse me skipper isn't that a bit dangerous"
CoPilot "Dangerous, of course it's dangerous but there is a war on you know"
Gunner "But it still a bit extreme isn't it?"
Pilot "Stop snivelling it's for King and country after all. Stiff upper lip and all that. Last one in the drink is a rotten egg."

Yep, you must tell your flakgunners to fire at close range (and not at mid or long range), that way the plane always fly's over and crashes in front of you and never on your deck:)
