missing FaT search pattern in TDC
I hadn't played SH for a while. So I reinstalled a from fresh and added the latest Real UB then started a new career. But it looks like I have a graphic problem that I can't sort out: On the TDC the search pattern for the FaTs is only showing up as a few green and blue dashes that are too few in number to make out the running pattern for the torpedo.
Has anyone else seen this? Maybe a problem with RUB install, or perhaps a graphics card driver problem...? I never had this problem before, but here's my machine: XP Home AMD XP3200 1gb Corsair ram BFG Gforce 6600 GT OC 77.72 drivers |
It's the RuB mod, adds an "assisted plotting" mod that gives minimal information, if you really want it back search for the "Unreal U-boat mod" which ahs the option of restoring the orignal map back.

Excellent. Thanks for the tip, Joea.

I got the FaT running lines back by restoring the original version of DashLine.tga, in the \data\Menu\Gui folder. Unfortunately this also restores the large gray dashed circles that appear around ships (range in which the target can see you?) when you click on them. It's not a bad tradeoff, since FaTs are otherwise so difficult to use that they border on useless.

Umm what about the sonar lines? I like the dashed vague sonar lines in RuB as they are now. Are they affected too?

The dashed sonar lines aren't impacted. These are formed using ContLine.tga, which is in the same folder as the DashLine file.
If you restore the pre-RUb version of ContLine you'll get the stock sonar lines back, but you'll also get disembodied wake trails on all contacts on the map. At that point, the assisted plotting mod is pretty much undone. Personally this hasn't been an issue, since I prefer the dashed sonar lines anyway. |
