Home Fleet Mod: Carriers / Cruisers Skin set [RELEASED]

I'm releasing as promised (albeit a month ago) the all gray skins for the carriers that are used by the British.

A second part of my Home Fleet Mod series, HF Mod: Carriers can be downloaded from Terrapin's site once they are live (HF_Mod: Carriers).

Use Rapidshare till than (if you can):
DOWNLOAD HF MOD: CARRIERS

Next, is the HFMod: Cruisers, including the Fiji and Dido. I'd like to think that this covers it, and whether I'll touch the destroyers is not cerain, because the numerous gray skins exist for them already I think.

It's been submitted to Terrapin as well, but for now, here's the rapidshare link: DOWNLOAD HFMOD:Cruisers

Enjoy!

The skins look great! I can finally get rid of that awful Illustrious camo scheme.

Is there a skin for the Casablanca carrier?

Another great surface vessel mod. I wish these ships were multiple skin so you could do even more of them, 941 :D

it looks great! gj

Excellent! :yep:

Very nice textures, indeed  :)

I never liked these clean painted "fresh out of the dock" - camo-skins. :)

What I could do in future is to make these skins in a lighter shade (like very early war) which would in turn could be used to cycle through, but that's a way off right now. Besides, the need to use multiple skins is really necessary with camoflauged ships (because when they have the same camouflage, the look silly).

@ Syxx_Killer : as you probably noticed, HomeFleet is focused on ships that are British. Casablanca is US only. Hence, I'm not going to make it.

update: added both light cruisers in a separate download as well. Preview pics at the top of the thread.

Doi. I should have picked up on that. :damn:

Anywho, the new cruisers look great as well!

see if I do Casablanca, than I have to get into the whole destroyer thing as well, and I'm just lazy to do those. :)

But having done British capital ships and all german warships, I might do the destroyers at some point, and it would include Casablanca. May be in a few weeks or so, right now i want to pick up my old project (for SH3 as well) which isn't related to skins.

Syxx_Killer 08-27-05 09:02 PM

I just realised something. Now that the Bogue is gray and the Casablanca isn't, I can finally tell the two apart! I always got the two mixed up before.

Type941 08-28-05 07:14 AM

yes, i know. ;)

And both files are at Terrapin's download directory.

I just had an idea. I think I'll download your mod and adapt the hull textures for use with the smaller escorts I haven't reskinned yet. I'm sick of seeing escort vessels that look like giant blue and grey insects bobbing on the North Atlantic. That grey should work well with a hunt class or small trawler. This is just for my own installation; I'm not planning on releasing your work or anything.

Type941 09-01-05 05:50 AM

Hey, why not ask me to send you the plain gray hull skin without any portholes on it, so you can arrange things better yourself for all destroyers, and than RELEASE it for all of us? If you are up to it... Let me know via PM or here. :know:

Schultzy 09-01-05 01:13 PM

oooh they are lovely.

Thanks for your work!!
