Rosyth on the map

I have changed the name/location for Rosyth, it was named as Firth of Forth. IF you want to alter it then find the entries in the Date - Terrain - Locations.cfg file then delete the Firth of Forth entries and copy and paste these new ones.
I'veleft the old entries afterthe (;;) marks in caseyou want to revert back.

BE CAREFUL TO ONLY DELETE THE FIRTH OF FORTH ENTRIES ONLY

[Location 179] ;Rosyth ;; Firth of Forth

Does it have any docked ships in the stock campaign after patch 1.4? Won't port moving cause any problem in this respect? Just curious.

Col7777 08-19-05 02:48 PM

I don't know, I haven't got any patches, all I know is it's in the wrong place, just like Liverpool and a few other places.
But like I said in my post, if/or you don't like it then you can revert back, I've left the old coordinates in there.

Even after the changes of location and in some cases names too, I see the old names and locations are still on the map, does anybody know how to alter this?

 a little bit of topic ,but while we are on the subject :smug: anyway has anybody else noticed that merthyr (locatated in south wales uk it has also games mission named after it, so perhaps it should be corrected) is not actually a coastal city but a steel town near mid wales :-? i could be wrong but i think it should be cardiff docks :hmm: i know swansea docks had some serious bombings during the war but that is more to the west anyway just a thought for you modders ;) wink ,wink, nudge, nudge,

Hi Capt,

You are right, there are a few places that have been misplaced or wrongly put on the map, the sad thing is, some people have written missions around some of those ports, now I or someone else could move them but then the missions won't work or look right, it's damn shame.
I read there is supposed to be another mod where a lot of ports has been changed and added, so before I do any more I am best finding out properly.

It is already changed in the OPs-Mod.

This is removed in the Ops-Mod too. We added a huge amount of new British ports and changed others. From Sronoway and Ullapool to Southampton.

Remember that, while altering the locations.cfg file will add the port tiles to the game world, you need to add a naval base marker to the LND_mis file in order for them to appear on the map.

Ah thanks Egan, I'll not bother with any more, I only read there was another mod after I had already done a few ports.
