Look what I've found
|
ROFL...name this the 'Ede vs. Ossis'-Gun :rotfl:
|
Holy moly! :o That sure packs a wallop. The sub would probably go spinning like a top if those guns fired to one side or the other. That would sure be nice to really stick it to those DDs, though.
|
oohhh, that boat....i met her....hehe ;)
|
LOL s it working?
how does the gunstqtion work??? :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: interesting wasnt there a Type X sub done, as a minelayer with 2x2 105 mm guns... :sunny: |
So, does it work, or not? It would be cool, like a underwater battleship. :D
|
Type XI! :D
|
It works, but only for non-player boats.
Just go to the eqp-files in data/submarine/yoursubmarine typ, and change the "Linkname" entry for the Deckgun. You can use every guntype in SH3. To find their names, go to the eqp-files in data/sea/randomship, for example NCL-Hipper, and there out of NCL-Hipper.eqp the gun-entry "8InchDoubleT". |

HAHA nice. This is Donitz's wet dream for sure!
To bad you can use it only once, because firing all guns would topple the sub over hehehe. :rotfl: |
:D
go back to immediately post WW1 and you find variuos country experimenting with this very idea...nice one by the way.. this is the british XI submarine cruiser link http://www.nmm.ac.uk/upload/img/N3556.jpg |
He He CB, you beat me to it. I knew I had seen something like that on an old newsreel.
But now you mention it, it could be another add-on for the British submarine idea, even if it is only AI. Woof or Commander, can you explain a little better on how to get this working please, you lost me a bit on your above post. |
Dont't forget the French Surcouf.
|
Wasn't the whole concept of a cruiser submarine fundamentally flawed? I mean, one hit to the pressure hull and the submarine's crippled. Surface combat is probably best left to surface ships. Maybe the Surcouf and other simiular types had heavily armored hulls...?
