Compress old files?
I've been wondering this for a while. Every week I run Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter. Disk Cleanup has compressed quite a few older files now. Could having compressed files that are associated with SH3 affect it in any way? I'm just wondering if that could be the cause of some of my weird game crashes. :-?

I have been doing the same thing once or twice aweek but have had no problems here. (Touch wood)

since I posted that..........I was sailing from Wilhemshaven to Lorient due to base being shifted and guess what.........
"SHip spotted Captain" Black Screen Do you want to send error report to Microsoft? First CTD in a long time  and I didn't save at all  so I wasted an hr  and an auxillary cruiser and a C3. and was a day from Lorient :( |
Why would you run disk defrag and cleanup once a week?
I only do It once a month |
I was told to by my comp builder..........and plus my comp gets alot of use...... but maybe what I was told it wrong!!!

Running a defrag is a good idea if you install or uninstall alot of files. A highly fragmented drive will slow down its performance. Diskeeper Lite if still available is a free defrag program that I feel is a bit better than than the default one that comes with XP. I defrag about 2 or 3 times a month and have yet to have a problem with any of my drives.[/quote]
