I have not played at the highest levels yet but I think as long as you have a navigation map ( F5 ) you will see the sunken ship Icons. @Damo1977 If you sink a ship or if it gets sunk by running aground or even if it sinks mysteriously there will be a sunken ship Icon of whatever color the ships country was related to. IE: Red= allies, Blue= Axis, Green= Neutral and the good old grey Icon of which I have not seen yet but others have so I've read. :yep: |
I play with everything on except manual targeting and only myself the free cam mod which I use for pics and to increase my moral in times of inactivity. (74%) I think I messed around with the no map contacts update so maybe this had something to do with it? SO I am about to head out to sea again and I shall just unclick it and sea what happens........ Thanks all

If it happens due to running aground or sinking in a storm, they're grey. That happened a lot in Gibraltar on my last trip there, with 15kps winds...lots of little Elcos floating to the strait's bottom, and I think at least one DD (though a couple more with my help, heheh) |
Nah I worked it out, so I am not going mad :88) , it was to do with the no map contact update realism button.......... Thank god...can't afford a shrink at this time..........

Those icons also only appear if you are physicaly capable of verifying the ship sinking. ie: scope up at the time of the game registering the kill, even if the sinking ship isn't in your field of view. Other wise you won't always see the icons.
