CameraMod - the User Edition!
Alright, well, after cooking up a camera set for the 'pro' purposes, wallpaper and movie makers and such, it's time to do something for the average Kaleun :D
Features: Free Camera - narrower angle (for better sense of scale and less distortion at screen edges) - finer rotation control - faster movement speed with "shift" - height limit increased to 2000m (from only 70 before!) Follow Object Camera -slightly narrower angle Conning Deck Camera -no more small downward limit! (you can look down to the floor if you want to now) -a much more "3D" camera, thanks to shifting it a little off the center of rotation Crew Position Cameras and Captain's Bed -no more rotation limits (except upside down) -a more "3D" camera *** Installation: -Place Cameras.dat to your SilentHunterIII/data/Library folder. Don't forget to backup your original Cameras.dat file just in case - but make sure you move the backup out of the Library folder (even if you renamed it!) http://rapidshare.de/files/3141115/CameraMod.zip.html Go get it! *** I wish I could do something more complex with cameras, but I assure you that this is about all I or anyone else in the mod community will able to do for the moment. (PS - Terrapin - if you'd like it on your site, please put it up or PM me - I still can't connect to the mod uploads FTP for some reason...) |
cool! nice job, the movie edition worked well for me in my time with it, now I'll graduate to the user edition :)

CCIP as a photographer I just love your camera mods. It's like having my Nikon SLR in game with me.

Those of us who get off on watching the amazing graphics of this game Salute You,

Camera Mod - User Edition (JSGME Ready). |
@CC.. just one small request.. and maybe I can do this myself...
I was using your moviecamera mod with the 50deg angle... to get the 'fat' look... What section of this mod can I hex edit to re-insert the 50deg angle setting? Cordialement, Duke of Earl |
Well, the value is AngularAngle under FreeCamera, if you can find that...
I can send you that file tomorrow no problem though, if you want. Actually, the free cam here is pretty darn close to 50 though - it's 57.265, so not that much difference :hmm: |

Somehow, things just don't look as 'fat' @57.265 than they do at 50.. go figure... :hmm: Cordialement, Duke of Earl |

Big thanks for good and clever posts! /Rulle |
Great stuff....just used the new cam mod tonight and i like it. The view from the bridge (apologies to arthur miller) is a much more realistic perspective, more like the human eye. This is a definite keeper.
13 more posts till i get rid of the crap medics hat. |
CCIP, Thanks for the new camera mod!
I have been having fun using your FOV camera file, FreeCamPro.zip, setting it for 30/40% 'wide' FOV for ship-views. I would lose the wide FOV if applying your new mod, correct? Your readme states: >Don't forget to backup your original Cameras.dat >file just in case - but make sure you move the >backup out of the Library folder (even if you >renamed it!) Good to see this warning. I thought I was going 'crackers', losing custom FOV-settings from FreeCamPro. Removed the stock file (renamed to 'camera.dat-ORIGINAL') from the folder, and custom-FOV worked fine again. How strange, SH3 seemed to be reading the old/renamed file. |
